Location # 5
The Eagle Rock Hole is the largest producer of king salmon
on the Kenai River and the hole has an average width of
about 200 yards. This is truly a Great Fishing Hole and can
allow up to 30 - 60 boats to fish it at the same time. This is a
very long hole and is usually fished with Spin-Glows lures by
slowly drifting them down the river with the current.
The world record king salmon (97.4 lbs.) was hooked within
this hole so be prepared for anything. This hole's bottom
is solid rocks and bolders with an average depth of about 10 feet
depending on the height of the daily tide. The holes bottom
is very clean and snag free so when you hook into someting
it is nodoubt going to be a big king. This is truly a Great Hole.

Location # 6
The Pillard Hole takes in about 2 - 3 smaller Great Fishing Holes.
The Pillard Holes are mainly located downstream from the Pillard
Boat Launch. The river narrows to about 100 - 200 yards and
the bottom is mostly gravel and rock. Many king and silver salmon
fishermen will attempt to back troll & bounce and drift baits while
fishing these holes. These holes should be fished just after seeing a large
school of salmon move through the Eagle Rock Hole as they
will be also holding within these holes for 15 - 30 minutes
after moving through the Eagle Rock area.
